I know this is complete blasphemy, but I have changed my allegiances from Liverpool to Everton. Ever since Landon came to Everton I've been following them more than any other team, and yesterday put it over the top, as I found myself rooting for Everton as I watched that game, and when it was over, I found myself disappointed that Liverpool had won. I decided in 2006 that Liverpool was going to be my team in Europe, but once I thought about it, I never really felt passionate about how they did, and I find myself rooting for Everton when I've watched them the last month more than I ever rooted for Liverpool, and more like how I root for the Revs or USA. So again, I know it's blasphemous but for better or worse, Everton is now my team.
I know its only one guy but its pathetic maybe if he was like 10 it would be excusable or if he just stopped watching english football.but hey won't be missed but i wonder how many others there are like this out there.what do you all think? is it ever o.k to decide to follow another team.

That says it all really.

I will refrain.

It is never ever acceptable to suddenly switch allegiances, especially between two teams with a big rivalry. Imagine if all those years ago Gerrard had gone to Chelsea, I wonder how many fans would have followed with him.

I am a Boston native and was always a die hard Red Sox fan, but I was always a big fan of Johnny Damon, so when he went to the Yankees, I felt like I needed to switch allegiances too. <------sarcasm
Rubbish. your team is your team, for better or for worse

Once you've made the choice you can't go back. Never. Ever. It's in the blood.
Well it should be anyway.

You're only allowed to switch allegiances if your surname is Carragher
Reading his book though, you can fully understand why he did.

I think you can add teams, but never switch like that. I might have added Real Madrid when I started watching more La Liga and when Arbeloa went there. (I'd say it was because Alonso went as well, but anyone who knows me well enough knows it's all about my Arbeloa allegiance.) However, if we were to play Real Madrid, I would be 100% cheering for Liverpool.
Clearly this guy wasn't a real fan. Next he'll be supporting Chelsea because he's decided he admires John Terry.

So what if Arbeloa or Alonso or someone else, Gerrard, Torres... went to Chelsea?!

Pathetic. Glad that a fair weather person like that doesn't support our team.
